VETnetwork Australia is the peak body supporting vocational education in schools. The 2008 Conference will bring together VET practitioners from senior secondary schools and colleges, career and enterprise educators, training organisations, university academics, researchers, policy developers, consultants, community programs and industry. The theme for the 2008 conference is Connections, Capacity and Collaboration. The focus will be on pedagogy, strategies for real life learning, case studies and partnerships.
The two and a half day national conference is designed to inform and inspire a critical mass of people within the vocational education and training environment to embrace change, explore innovation, achieve success and celebrate enterprise. A program of optional extras is organised for the afternoon of Thursday 2 October. The conference dinner on Wednesday 1 October is a party no one will want to miss...

Day 1
Keynote Speakers Matt Church and Michael McQueen
Matt Church is a great speaker, and a stimulating educator. Matt has been voted as one of Australia's leading conference speakers in almost every industry way possible. He is a fabulous high energy, content rich, dynamic speaker.
Michael McQueen has been engaged in training and conference speaking for the past seven years. In September 2007, Michael released his first book The New Rules of Engagement, which is packed full with information and ideas to help parents and teachers better understand and engage Generation Y.

Day 2
Keynote Industry Speakers
To highlight the skills needs and debate strategies to engage our future workforce.
Industry panels representing major industry groups. In the afternoon optional activities include:
- Out and About in Sydney - Tours with an education/industry focus
- Short TAFE 'Taster' Courses
- Research Forum-Education and Industry in conversation
Day 3
Keynote Speaker: Dr Jim Bright
Jim Bright is Appointed Professor of Career Education and Development at ACU National. This role complements Bright & Associates as an International Career Development Consultancy providing a wide range of career counselling, coaching, and assessments services.
